Great work from our very own ‘Young Environmentalists’ in 6th class who made it through to the ECO-Dens for the Semi-Final of the Young Environmentalist Awards 2017. They had the nerve-wracking experience of pitching their projects to environmental experts. They told them about how our school has increased our recycling and reduced our waste this […]
Ms. Kelly’s class have been learning all about Ancient Egypt and have been working hard to create some beautiful Ancient Egyptian Art pieces. We have also been using our researching skills to produce interesting reports all about life in Ancient Egypt. There are certainly some fabulous historians in Third class!
Ms Mc Inerney’s Junior Infants love music. Over the past few weeks we have been listening to The Carnival of the Animals by the composer Saint-Saëns. Our favourite movement is The Elephant. Our music teacher Rachael even brought us in elephant trunks to help us get into the elephant groove! Check us out below waltzing around the classroom […]
Well done to our very own Spelling Bee, from 6th class as she represented Stanhope Street Primary at the annual Easons Spelling Bee Competition. She did very well and all her class are extremely proud of her!
On Friday mornings we are allowed to choose who we play with and what we play with. The polydrons and the dress-up box are always popular choices!!
Fourth class couldn’t believe their luck when they discovered they were beginning touch typing on electric typewriters. After only three weeks they are proving to be highly competent touch typists.
Senior Infants have been learning about the properties and characteristics of different materials. On Tuesday we went on a Materials Trail to find things in our school environment which are made out of wood, plastic, paper, glass and metal.
Third class students celebrated Lá Glás on 16th March with a Céilí Mór! There was plenty of craic agus ceol and some fabulous cailíní ag damhsa!
Ms Carey’s first class gathered 20 feathers on their compliment chart and to celebrate we had a fruit salad party with a twist. We tried fruits we knew and liked and some fruits we had never tasted before. We tasted mango, pineapple, watermelon, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, kiwi and pomegranate. Of course the twist was marshmallows and hot […]
