Congratulations to all the boys and girls in Stanhope Street for taking part in one of the best Active Weeks we have ever had! Each day offered new and exciting activities for everyone. Look at how much fun everyone had!
Monday
We kicked off to a great start on Monday with our annual Sports Day! First off we had our Junior Sports Day. The children rotated to different stations every couple of minutes and everyone got a chance to take part. The stations included sack race, parachute, egg & spoon race, hula hoop rock paper scissors, wheelbarrow race, cups & saucers, javelin, and playground games. In the afternoon we held our Senior Sports Day. These activities included rounders, bench ball, races, and games!

On Tuesday Senior Infants – 2nd class got to take part in Taekwondo, 3rd – 6th class got to play Tag Rugby and the Junior Infants paid a visit to the playground in Grangegorman! We also held a chess tournament in the courtyard and the Green Schools Committee got to cycle their bikes around the astro-turf. It was an action packed day and everyone had lots of fun!

Thursday
On Thursday, we held our annual school walk. We started off by walking around the North Circular Road and finished up by doing a lap in Grangegorman Park. The weather was perfect and all the children had a great time!
Friday
Friday was the last day of active week, so we made sure it was one to remember! There was skipping and dance throughout the day. What a great end to an exciting week!
