Our two fourth classes participated in a whole day event on Thursday the 16th of February – ‘Healthily Ever After‘- hosted by Junior Achievement in collaboration with Disney. Disney decorated our hall with a collection of well-loved Disney characters, adding to the excitement and enjoyment of the event for the children. The children were immersed in a series of workshops promoting healthy lifestyle choices and nutrition. They tasted a huge variety of fruit and vegetables and worked in groups to create posters encouraging healthy life choices with the help of the fantastic volunteers from Junior Achievement and Disney. They participated in lots of fun exercises which we aim to continue practising daily to boost our healthy living habits . Dr Niall Moyna, Professor and Head of the School of Health and Performance in DCU, attended the workshops and he was inspired by our positive attitudes towards healthy living. This memorable day ended with fabulous gift bags for all the children and many of them commented “This is the best day of my life!”.
