Welcome to Stanhope Street!
My name is Marie and I am the HSCL here at Stanhope Street Primary. I have been teaching here since 2004. Following a career break in 2015 and teaching in the U.A.E, I returned to Stanhope Street Primary.Since September 2021, I have stepped into the role of Home School Community Liaison Coordinator. A role, which has given me a wonderful opportunity to get to know the families of the children in our care and develop relations with community initiatives that support families and children.
The role of HSCL involves promoting active co-operation between home, school and relevant community agencies in promoting the educational interests of the children. The HSCL works with parents in many different ways to develop their capacity as a key resource in their children’s learning.
Our School Policy is to work together to create a school community where all people are respected and valued. We understand parents and guardians to be partners in education who best know and love their children and the teachers are the partners with expertise in their subjects and teaching methods.
United by the common goal of wanting the best for the children in our care, we believe that open, non-threatening communication and mutual support is a great way to achieve our goal.
We will continue to move forward in the spirit of our mission statement which aims to foster a supportive relationship between home and school.
