Timeline 2020-2021

Everyone here at Stanhope Street had great fun during our Podtastic active sports week event. All class levels really enjoyed playing all the different games and activities.

GAA Skill Development

We were very lucky to get the opportunity to learn some GAA Skills. We had a fantastic time with our coach, Christian. Take a look at some of our pictures of us in action

Dance extravaganza as Stanhope Street embraces the outdoors!

Fun, fresh air and exercise, a wonderful recipe indeed!

Imagination Play

Everyone was so excited to get the chance to build super structures using the new Imagination Play blocks in school. We had great fun being creative and working as a team.

Keeping active over Easter!

Sport Ireland Campus have put together some virtual Easter Camps to keep us busy over the Easter break. You can access the five days of fun activities through their website, the link is below. The sessions begin on Monday the 5th April at 10am. It might be a nice break from all the chocolate!

Jerusalema Dance Challenge

Well done to the children in 3rd-6th class who took part in our online Jerusalema dance challenge. The children made a huge effort to learn the dance and to send a video to their teacher on SeeSaw. It was very tough to choose the winners, as they were all brilliant!

January & February 2021

Fitness Videos From Mr McCorry! During our current Lockdown Mr Mc Corry did Captain Active proud and sent weekly videos to his class to help  keep them fit! Sometimes it was dance with special guests like his sister or brother and other times it was a short keep fit class outside in Co. Cavan! Well done Mr Mc Corry and room 13 for staying fit during lockdown!

December 2020

Santa Christmas Walk We decided to keep active by going out for a festive walk around the Grangorman Campus. Senior Infants to 6th Class wore Christmas jumpers, hats and outfits and sang Christmas songs to keep  warm. Have a look to see if you can spot yourself!

November 2020

This month, each class has been working really hard everyday to complete a 10 minute break challenge! This can involve doing a number of laps in the yard, dancing, doing a set of exercises, or completing our indoor walkway in the school! The most active class in the school then wins Captain Active at the end of each week for all their hard-work.

October 2020

On Friday we went on  A Spooky Walk through Grangegorman. All the children form senior infants to sixth class particpated in the walk dressed up in their scary outfits for Halloween. We did one lap of Grangeforman and many of the regular walkers were spooked by us! It was a great way to begin our midterm and a chance for us to see each other in a safe way! Boo!

September 2020

This was a busy month settling back into school after so many months at home and out of routine. We had our first Active School Teacher Meeting and Our First Active School Pupil Meeting. We had to sadly say goodbye to Ms Mullery and to our three first class boy members from last year. We thanked them greatly for all their hard work over the past three years in helping us achieve the Active School Flag. We  got three more additions to the teacher committee- Ms Lavelle, Ms Foley and Mr Mc Corry.  We got three new members from first class, Craig, Emma and Jack and two from second class Bella and Ava. We feel we have a great team going forward and the first meeting was spent deciding what we would do in October. We had ideas on how to keep active, how to organise PE to be safe during Covid times and how to finally celebrate our first ever Active Flag. We had lots of great ideas from teachers and pupils alike! October will be a busy month!
